My Trip To Wizard World TexasJournal: skullmunkey | Date: 11/21/2009 I haven't been to many cons, but this one was by far the most crowded. I know that it is nothing compared to the big time cons like San Diego, but it was the most comics fans I had ever seen in one place. My first con was WWTX 2006, and it was pretty lightly attended, so that's what I was expecting when I came back in 2007. In 2006, there weren't more than 20-30 VIPs, and we congregated in a small back hall and got to know each other a bit. I don't know how many VIPs there were in 2007, but there the number was definitely in the low hundreds. As usual, I had lots of fun over the three days. I live in southeast Oklahoma, over 200 miles away from Dallas in a pretty small town, so I was quite surprised to meet a couple of people who not only knew where Idabel, OK is, they had family nearby. I hung out with them whenever I could, and we often stood in line together during all those hour long (minimum) waits for sketches and autographs.
